THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU David and Kelli Pritchard for this book. I believe God is bigger than public education, what we (as parents) teach our children is the most important thing, and that our children CAN thrive in public school.
Meg, Aspen, CO
The Pritchard’s material has been a go to for us since our Kids were very young. They are a wealth of loved our information. Just spend an hour with them or one of their amazing kids and you know what they teach they live out! We are better parents because of the Pritchard’s tool box!
I have high respect for the Pritchard’s! Parenting can certainly be challenging. I am incredibly grateful for the wisdom I have gleaned from them over the years through their parenting conferences, books, videos, and over the phone. I am a better parent because of them! Thank you, Pritchard’s,!!!
Amelia, Apex, NC
Public school scared us to death, but felt like it was the best option for our family. The Pritchard’s book Going Public as well as their blog and podcast have changed our perspective dramatically. They have given us the tools we needed to embrace public school confidently and know how to handle difficult situations with peers and teachers. So thankful for their wisdom and resources
I really value and appreciate the wisdom and experience that the Pritchards share! As parents, we try to glean wisdom from anywhere we can and the Pritchards are a gem!
Carolyn, Covington, PA
When we were wrestling with the decision of how to navigate public school. It seemed at the time like the message I was getting from everywhere was that if we were “real” Christians, we would homeschool. That’s when I found the Pritchard’s book. It was a very pivotal experience for me and God really used their book to speak to me and to help me and my husband to clarify our resolve about supporting public school.

The Pritchards have helped us have confidence in the Lord as we put our children in public school. We have appreciated their perspective on trusting the Lord to guide our children. We have also benefited from their encouragement to require obedience from our children. Their suggestions and advice have helped us create a more peaceful home.

Kelli and David have modeled a lifestyle of parenting and raising children in a world seeking the answers to four basic questions of life: origin, meaning, morality, and destiny. They have raised a family that is intergenerational and with each grandchild more deeply connected. They do not have a secret formula or extra ordinary circumstances to their legacy, but being consistent in the mundane tasks of creating a culture of honesty, dependence on divine grace, honor, and grit has given them years of learning, growth, development, and wisdom for the next generation of parents. Their ministry helps us as we parent, their wisdom is so helpful because it is relevant. Culture emanates from the home and their home has been an epicenter of healing, restoration, training, forgiveness, grace, and hope to the fatherless, orphan, single mother, confused child, and prideful son and daughter. Our family has gleaned so much by observing and watching not just mom and dad parent, but their children parent. They are not perfect but they are honest and have big generous hearts that have withstood storms and countless challenges.

I usually take “experts” advice with a grain of salt, and find it annoying and misleading how so many people in the church put Christian leaders, pastors, authors etc. on a pedestal. However, since I have known David & Kelli for many years, and their children, I can honestly say, Going Public, is the only parenting book I’ve ever read. And it’s the only one I recommend to others as well. There are so many applicable, meaningful and important things in their book. Awkward situations, uncomfortable stories, basically real life happening, where you can see David & Kelli putting things in the right perspective and making choices that are honoring to God. Which is ultimately all that matters to me as a parent. Raising children that love God and in turn love others. Thank you David & Kelli for putting yourselves out there and sharing the wisdom and insight that can only come from many years of practice!
Katherine, Auckland, New Zealand
I really enjoyed reading Going Public. It confirmed for me the power of God's word in the midst of a hostile world.

I have been a parent for almost 12 years now and I don't think a week goes by where I don't say to myself, 'How would David and Kelli handle this?'. When we had our first child I remember the first day I was on my own with him as my mom had went back home and my husband had gone back to work and I had five books about parenting newborns spread out on the table. They all said something different and I found myself crying and overwhelmed. I called Kelli and said, 'So I am not sure I know what I'm doing.' She said to be present with my baby, enjoy the moment, and it will all come to me. She was right, and she continues to be right any and every time I call her. Three children and twelve years later, she and David are still my go-to for any and every kind of advice. There has never been a situation that they, themselves haven't navigated. They are amazingly humble, wise and loving. We have been so blessed to have them in our lives.

I had my notes from your seminar out with a friend discussing and remembering. Here we are a couple weeks later, still discussing. She is not a Chrisian but we got to talking one day about your book; I lent it to her and she loved it and committed to the workshop. We have had countless conversations throughout and since that open the door for sharing my faith. Thank you for not only helping me love my husband and my kids better but also for providing a topic that crosses all spiritual and cultural boundaries which has enabled me to share the truth. (From your seminar years ago.)

"Using biblical truths and practical examples, David and Kelli Pritchard have succeeded in writing a "how to" book about thriving in public schools - a must read"
Jim Harbaugh, Head Football Coach (currently), University of Michigan
The composure and poise that Tavita Pritchard (son) showed when he was thrust into the national spotlight is the type of character quality that takes a lifetime of parenting to produce. I highly recommend this book and the message that the Pritchards have on parenting.
"My husband and I were Young Life interns at Malibu, a YL resort while the Pritchard family was there for a month about 17 years ago. This was our first teaching on parenting but we didn’t know it! We of course were not even married yet but we both individually watched as they parented ALL their kids with love and truth and instilled character into their children! Years later we went to a YoungLife marriage retreat and went to their parenting seminars. At the time, we only had two children and the youngest was 9 months old and screamed in his car seat constantly and all day basically from birth on. We sat down with David and Kelli about our extremely challenging son, they talked to us about teaching him how to “get control”. Kelli told me they would teach their kids that term and concept from the very first days at the hospital. They told us from the moment you change that first diaper and the child starts to cry, gently tell them to “get control please”. We were able to do this from birth with our third child and also began it with our other two children who were a little older. Our third child is three now and these two simple words and of course all the teaching behind what “get control” means and looks like has changed her life and ours and I can honestly say our community around us. Friends ask us a lot how we instilled this and how to teach this concept to their kids, as they see us use it daily with our children and see it works! When our youngest begins to have fits, which happens often I look at her and tell her “get control please” and it’s a trigger now for her to calm down, take a deep breath and to get her “control hands” (folding her hands). Of course, the words aren’t magic and don’t eliminate issues of behavior but it begins movement towards her getting control of herself. Not only has this changed our children and how we correct them but it has changed my husband and I also as we teach them we are reminded to get control of our tone, our thoughts, our words, feelings and more. This is one of the greatest tools we have ever learned and we are so thankful to the Pritchards for sharing this with us and so many others. I could go on forever and tell stories of sharing their book “Going Public” and passing on pod casts to young parents and how many have had eye opening stories due to these tools David and Kelli have shared! Thanks guys, so thankful!
